The Sault Tribe Telecommunications Department is working to move all copper phone line service to fiber.

Telecommunications will be working with Peninsula Fiber Network to move phone traffic on Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The locations that will be affected include:
Escanaba Community Center
Gladstone Health Center
Alternate number: 906‑825‑1000
Manistique Casino
Manistique Fitness Center
Manistique Health Center
Medical alternate number: 906‑203‑4746
Optical alternate number: 906‑203‑4768
Pharmacy alternate number: 906‑203‑4742
Dental alternate number: 906‑440‑6728

Phones in these locations will not be down the entire time but will experience interruptions while the cutovers are in progress. During the downtime, please use the alternate numbers listed.

For the fitness centers that do not have an alternate number, you can call one of the health clinics, and we can get a message to them. Also, mobile phone services will not be affected, so feel free to use cell phones during any downtime.
