COVID is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus and has several different variants, or strains.

Symptoms usually begin 3-5 days after you are infected with the virus. Symptoms include: fever, cough, chills, fatigue, headache, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, problems with taste/smell and muscle aches.

Most people have mild symptoms that last a few days to a week. If you become ill with COVID, stay home, rest, and drink plenty of fluids. If you begin to have trouble breathing, seek treatment at your nearest emergency department.
