Program Objective
The Native Employment Works program targets working families at or below 150% of the poverty level that are at risk of becoming reliant on public assistance.
The program provides tools that could potentially lead to self-sufficiency, by identifying barriers to either keeping their current job or obtaining a higher-paying job.
Supportive services include both financial assistance and related job activities, to help achieve assigned goals that are agreed upon by both the client and their Direct Assistance Case Manager.
In order to determine eligibility, you will need to verify:
- You have a Minor Child who is an Enrolled Member of the Sault Tribe
- Sault Tribe Membership card or Social Security card for every Household Member
- Income Eligibility
- Proof of Residency within the Sault Tribe seven-county Service Area
