Indigenous Peoples Day

Indigenous Peoples Day on Oct. 12
Indigenous Peoples Day takes place on Oct. 12, 2020. Indigenous Peoples Day celebrates our culture and our resilience. On this day we honor all past, present and future Native people across the United States. Indigenous Peoples Day is celebrated on the second Monday in October each year. Since 1991 many states have recognized Indigenous Peoples Day, including Michigan, Wisconsin and many more.

On Oct. 12, 2020 the Sault Tribe Language and Cultural Department produces a virtual celebration on the day with programs and celebration of Anishinaabe Culture. Look for detail of the event to come.
