Sault Tribe Board meets Feb. 20 in Sault Ste. Marie

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. —The Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians Board of Directors will hold a regular meeting beginning 5 p.m. on Feb. 20 at the Kewadin Casino in Sault Ste. Marie, in person or via Zoom, https://zoom.us/j/83640619761.

“Membership Participation” will be held at 5 p.m. in person or by virtual attendance. The link is available Sault Tribe website under membership assistance for the meeting link and Membership Form that must be completed. The deadline to submit a form is 1 p.m. on meeting day. The link is https://zoom.us/j/83640619761. Those who have already registered for Zoom meetings need not register again unless they have a matter for the board.

On the agenda under Resolutions is: FY24 Budget Mod Inland Fish & Wildlife & Establish FY24, Budget-CCER Technical Services Contract and Ishkode Project, FY24 Institute of Museum & Library Services-Basic Lib. Grant, FY24 Coordinated Tribal Assistance Solicitation, ARPA Funded OHTE Program Policies and Plan, Reallocation of ARPA Funds, Trust Land Status-Lots 1-30 Block 1 SSM Chippewa County, Trust Land Status - Lots 4-8 Block 6 SSM Chippewa County, Trust Land Status - Hillcrest Prop. Cedarville Mackinac County, Trust Land Lease Cancellation - Fortin, Trust Land Lease - McKerchie and LaPlante Jr., Partial Waiver of Convictions, Authorizing Limited Waiver of Immunity - Liquor License, and Submission - Congressionally Directed Spending Req. FY2025.

Under New Business, the board will consider: Child Welfare Committee – Board Liaison, Conversion Fishing Agreements, and Board Concerns.
