SAULT STE. MARIE — On March 17, the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians Board of Directors will hold a regular meeting at the Manistique Tribal Center in Manistique beginning at 6:00 p.m. A workshop will be held prior to the meeting: closed from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., a conservation issue discussed at 1:00 p.m., an ANA grant at 1:30, grant applications for economic stimulus monies at 1:45, sergeant-at-arms at 2:15, Tribal Freedom of Information Ordinance at 2:45 p.m., Economic Development Department at 3:15 p.m., Amending Chapter 14: Video Conferencing at 3:45 and matters raised by the membership at 5:00 p.m., after which an open community hour will take place.

Resolutions on the agenda are: Spirit of Eagles grant; Administration for Native Americans SEDS grant; State Homeland Security Program Tribal; USDA Distance Learning/Telemedicine Program; FY 2009 HIV Prevention Budget Modification; FY 2009 Telecommunications Capital Expenditures; FY 2009 Enterprise Capital Expenditures; Contract Bruce R. Greene & Associates; Contract Keranen & Associates; Contract Frost, Brown, Todd, L.L.C. ; Contract Native Am. Law & Ec Dev. Center; Authorization to survey membership transportation needs; sergeant-at-arms, Tribal Freedom Of Information Ordinance, establishing a new Economic Development Department; and Amending Chapter 14: Permitting Video Conferencing.

Under new business, the board will discuss a budget sweep policy, JKL School/Bahweting PSA and a committee vacancy.
