Feeding America West Michigan Mobile Food Pantry is coming to Sault Ste. Marie on Tuesday, Jan. 11.

West Michigan is scheduled to bring 10 Mobile Food Pantry distributions to Sault Ste. Marie, held on the second Tuesday of each month except for July and August.

The first distribution will provide approximately 30,000 pounds of groceries, enough for 600 households. It is scheduled to occur at the Big Bear Arena in Sault Ste. Marie on Tuesday, Jan. 11.

Mobile Pantries are like farmers markets on wheels – delivering a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy products, and baked goods to communities with a high need for food support. Because of the pandemic, all Mobile Pantries are providing drive-thru service at this time.

● Attendees will not be asked to show identification or proof of income to receive food; however, they will be required to provide basic contact information and affirm their need for food.

● In order to pick up food for a household other than your own, you must have written permission that includes: household name and address, how many people live in the household, how many are children, how many are senior citizens/elders, and how many are veterans.

Details about the event are outlined below.
Location: Big Bear Arena, 2 Ice Circle Drive, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783
