Quick Access

Sault Tribe Housing Authority offers low income rentals and Rental Assistance Vouchers for those who qualify. The Housing department has provided affordable homes to tribal members in the Upper Peninsula since 1981. The Housing Authority manages a subsidized housing program that offers low-income tribal families affordable, safe and sanitary housing.

The Sault Tribe Housing Authority recognizes that many needs cannot be met by the existing low-income rental program. The Rental Assistance program was created to expand housing opportunities while meeting unique needs of tribal families, thus providing rental assistance off trust land. The Rental Assistance program provides rent subsidies for income-qualified working families.
