This program is a mortgage that is guaranteed by HUD. If the recipient defaults on the mortgage, HUD pays the lender.

Section 184 can be used for:
- Purchase an existing home
- Construction loans for stick built or manufactured on permanent foundations
- Rehab loans
- Refinancing loans
Eligibility:
American Indian or Alaska Native who are members of a Federally recognized Tribe.

- A Tribally Designated Housing Entity (TDHE)
- An Indian Housing Authority (IHA)
Lender Participation:
Loans are originated and serviced by lenders that have completed Section 184 training. The Sault Tribe Housing Authority does not process mortgage's. Please contact one of the lendors listed below.
