EUP Reads

EUP Reads rescheduled for March 18
The annual EUP Reads event was moved to March 18 due to inclement weather on March 11.

The community family reading event is for EUP families with kids of all ages. It will be held at the LSSU Cisler Center from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 18. Hundreds of people attend the event, held each year during the month of March, national reading month.

This year’s theme is “nursery rhymes” and some volunteers will even dress as popular characters from traditional songs and poems. There will be drawings for prizes and every child who comes will receive a free book courtesy of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. LSSU will provide refreshments.

In addition to JKL Bahweting, area school districts and LSSU, others represented will include War Memorial Hospital, the Bayliss Library, area preschools, Families Against Narcotics, the Department of Human Services, Michigan State University Extension, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Eastern Upper Peninsula Intermediate School District and the Boys & Girls Club.
