Sault Tribe Emergency Management office is located within George K. Nolan Judicial Building within Sault Tribe Law Enforcement.
It is the mission of STEM to support residents/members, employees and businesses with comprehensive emergency plans to reduce loss of life and property and to protect the environment through collaboration and to build, sustain, and improve our capabilities to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate all hazards by providing and coordinating resources, expertise, leadership, and advocacy through a comprehensive, risk-based emergency preparedness program.
The STEM Office provides emergency support to the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians Seven County Service area—to include information, equipment, emergency notification and planning. It also manages the Sault Tribe Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and develops all operational plans, and procedures to ensure public safety during an emergency event.
