Health and wellness fair - St. Ignace


Sault Tribe Community Health presents Harvest for your Health 2016, health and wellness fairs. A fair is set for the Hessel Tribal Center on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Sault fair takes place at the Chi Mukwa Community Recreation Center on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., grand opening tours of the Community Health kitchen set for noon, registered dietitians on hand with special food demonstration. The St. Ignace fair is set for Tuesday, Oct. 25, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Little Bear Recreation Center.

Fairs feature farmers’ markets with local vendors, refreshments; flu shots for tribal members, families of tribal members and tribal employees; exercise demonstrations, health screenings plus education booths on blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes throughout the day.

Register for a grand prize at each fair: a new crock pot, cookbook and ingredient basket for a fall recipe.
